My correspondence with “The White House” must not be inflammatory enough. . .No “agent men” at my door yet.

I became disabled nearly two years ago and was forced to live on 1/3 of what I used to earn. In addition, I lost my employer provided medical coverage. Despite having medical issues serious enough to put me on Social Security Disability, I have to wait two years without dying, being injured or getting sick before I receive any sort of medical coverage.

In the mean time, my mortgage is 60% of my monthly income. Your Making Homes Affordable program exempts everybody that owns a manufactured home. That includes me! The lenders won't budge.

At the same time, you pay Africans in Africa to get abortions and provide healthcare to children of illegal aliens that make $60,000/year. Anyone making such a huge sum as $60K/yr. should be paying for their own insurance. My annual income is just $12,100/yr. I don’t think this is at all fair.

I lived in this country all my life and worked for 24 years before being injured in an OSHA non-compliant factory. There's a good possibility that I would not be disabled if work place safety regulations were more strictly enforced. My former employer has lots of blood on its' hands.

As a result of your policies, I'm forced to suffer. I would be much more comfortable in prison. Apparently, others have noticed this as the prison population continues to increase.

I live in southern Arizona without air conditioning. It was 113 degrees today. I spent nearly two years without a working refrigerator because I was up to my neck in mortgage payments. I can't afford to heat my home in the winter either. I still don't have indoor running water or a working flush toilet. I have not taken a shower in nearly two years. I did make all of my house payments on time.

I went to what is commonly called the 'free clinic". As it turned out, it was anything but free. They wanted $400.00 just to clean my teeth!

Maybe you should turn off the water and air conditioning at the White House for a few days and get to know how may citizens have to exist. Skip a few showers and wear some dirty clothes. Forget about vacations!

As I type this, I have limited use of my right hand. I will more than likely need hand surgery in the future. I'm sure the longer I wait, the more serious it will become. It will also become more expensive to treat. I have hearing loss. That condition has been untreated since being diagnosed. Imagine living in a world where everybody sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher.

I have come to believe that the Americans With Disabilities Act is not worth the paper it's printed on. I also came to find out that the FEMLA is worthless too. Remember, without a job or income, legal representation is impossible.

I don't even have Medicare yet and that cost is to go up while Social Security benefits remain unchanged. Apparently, some fool said that there was no inflation. I believe they were terribly misinformed.

To date:

a.) My water bill increased nearly 30% this year and more increases are scheduled. (My drinking water is tainted with arsenic and can be harmful or fatal to infants.)
b.) My property value decreased while my property taxes increased.
c.) The cost of food has gone up.
d.) American Express sent me a letter informing me that my interest rate is going up.
e.) My automobile insurance went up another $3.00/month.
f.) My electric company asked for an additional 10% and they're going to get it.

This is only August. What else will go up before the end of the year? No inflation? One thing is perfectly clear to me. My cost of living IS going up!

If you experienced pain every time you wiped your ass, you would not be a happy camper either.

Disabled American Citizen,

Harry L. Hughes III

Sometimes, I have nothing better to do. I spend several minutes a day writing media outlets, Congressmen, Senators and of course, The White House. Senator John McCain is the only representative that has bothered to reply. As expected, his reply was totally useless. Our elected officials are clueless.
I wrote MaCain today as well. I slammed him for a comment he made at a town hall earlier this week. He apparently wants us to believe that Obama respects the Constitution. Most of us "commoners" know and understand the reality of that situation. If Obama really respected the Constitution, he would show us his birth certificate instead of hiding it at considerable expense.
