The Healthcare Bill Passes Despite Popular Unpopularity

They finally did it. Utilizing a series of backroom deals and outright bribes, Congress finally passed the Obamacare Bill. Do you think you have something now? The truth is, you didn’t get anything. Obama, the snake oil salesman found another cleaver way to rob you blind.

In four years, people will have the opportunity to purchase medical coverage or face fines for not doing so. They really gave you something. Didn’t they? How many people will die waiting for that coverage to begin in 2014? That’s the idea. Your government wants you to drop dead if you get sick. Sick people don’t work and pay taxes. Get it?

Fact Sheet: The Truth About The Healthcare Bill

The Firedoglake health care team has been covering the debate in congress since it began last year. The health care bill will come up for a vote in the House on Sunday, and as Nancy Pelosi works to wrangle votes, we’ve been running a detailed whip count on where every member of Congress stands, updated throughout the day.

Since those elected non-representatives in Washington D.C. didn’t have the time and/or the motivation to bother reading the legislation they decided to pass, they told the American people a variety of lies to give the illusion of substance. As we all know, this is nothing new. Almost every word that comes out of the mouth of a politician is a lie. When will people ever learn?

My mother sent this cute little story the other day. It explains a lot about propaganda and politics.

The Cow and the Ice Cream: One of the Best Explanations of Why Obama Won the Election
--From a teacher in the Nashville area

"We are worried about 'the cow' when it is all about the 'Ice Cream.' The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year. . .

The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president.

We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.
.
To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have.

We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.
.
The class had done a great job in their selections.
.
Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother.

The day arrived when they were to make their speeches. Jamie went first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Everyone applauded and he sat down. Now is was Olivia's turn to speak.

Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down. The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream." She surely would say more. She did not have to.

A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn't know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a landslide.

Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth, he offered ice cream and 52 percent of the people reacted like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other 48 percent know they're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess.

This is the ice cream Obama promised us!

Remember, the government cannot give anything to anyone -- that they have not first taken away from someone else. Did you vote for the ice cream?

Anne Kirkpatrick misleads Arizona on Health Care

Worse, Kirkpatrick knows this. Senate Minority Whip, John Kyl, sent Kirkpatrick a memo informing her that many of the things she wishes to change in the Senate bill cannot be modified because of the nature of the reconciliation process. Kirkpatrick has ignored this reality by making promises she knows she cannot deliver.

Republican or Democrat? It doesn't matter which party makes the rules. Both parties are corrupt and evil. You will get socialized healthcare with wonderful U.S. Government efficiency and the compassion of the I.R.S. at Pentagon prices. Remember, we are all serfs on the "global plantation", owned and operated by the transnational corporations. We will never see anything but the scraps from the boss man’s table unless there is a "peasant" revolt.

“Those who hold office with a short tenure can hardly do as much harm as those who have a long tenure; and it is long possession of office which leads to the rise of tyrannies in oligarchies and democracies. Those who make a bid for tyranny are either the [demagogues] or else the holders of the main offices who have held them for a long period.” --Aristotle

  1. The health care bill calls for $500 billion in Medicare cuts over ten years, and because of the cuts, this bill “changes Social Security.” The $500-billion cuts in Medicare were written into the health care bill purportedly so that 30 to 45 million people who currently have no health care insurance coverage will have it. Democrats are ready to pay for the health care bill by placing a vile burden on the backs of the elderly and disabled.
