SB 1070: A great Day Coming. . . . (and long overdue)

Although some people may claim to be negatively affected by immigration enforcement and SB 1070, many more people are victimized by illegal aliens who abide by no laws whatsoever. What about the hundreds of kidnapping victims in the City of Phoenix? It would appear to me that Mexicans can be their own worst enemies. If this is how they treat their own countrymen(like animals), do you think they will treat their American hosts with any respect and dignity? I think NOT!

Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon must be proud of the “Kidnap Capital of America” title his city has as he gladly looks the other way with his head up his ass and allows the crime epidemic to continue, even flourish.

Does anyone care about Arizonans that have to live in fear of criminals from Mexico? What about the murdered rancher in southern Arizona? What about cops killed by illegal aliens? Don’t forget the millions of Arizona taxpayers that pay for illegal immigration to the tune of 2.7 billion dollars a year. Then, there’s the bankrupt education system that’s ready to burst at the seams. Are we supposed to feel sorry for people that ruin their own country and turn their back on their own people? I say NO!

A Great Day (Coming): We Invoke Iconic Art For Our 40th and to Honor Community Resistance to Oppression

This month, New Times celebrates its 40th anniversary. To mark this modest moment, we invoke iconic art in the name of ongoing community resistance to misguided immigration policies and the continued heavy hand of local law enforcement.

In 1958, Art Kane pulled together 57 giants of jazz and took their picture in New York. The shot, "A Great Day in Harlem," was published in Esquire and included luminaries like Count Basie, Lester Young, Thelonious Monk, Mary Lou Williams, and Dizzy Gillespie. A 1994 documentary of the shoot expanded the legend.

I don’t think we can put all of the people who have been hurt by illegal immigration into just one photo, unless we put the camera into a high Earth orbit. This boils down to the needs of the many vs. the few, many of whom are the wrong side of the law. It appears that The Phoenix New Times could care less about the “real” innocent victims, only a small minority with questionable character.

"Although some of us are (pardon the pun) on the other side of the fence, you have to admire the courage of their convictions many showed in last week's New Times' photo-story. For civic and community leaders to purposely ignore the letter of the law, and reframe every discussion with the 'human element'...again, that takes courage.” (from one of my contributors)

The Federal Government Might Be Slowly Waking Up. . .

Although, thankful for even a little positive news, I will be continuing my patrols, which are quite a few miles north of the border. I have heard that news of my patrols have made it to the “other side”. Hopefully, we’ll steer these hordes of illegal aliens in the southern direction and into the path of the military and Border Patrol. It will be fear of angry Americans that will deter this unwelcome flood.

Barack Obama Sending 1,200 Troops to Border, New York Times Reports

You can expect that the architect of this pandering to extremists is none other than former Arizona governor Janet Napolitano, who had National Guard troops deployed to the Arizona-Mexico border in 2006, as a sop to right-wing critics such as J.D. Hayworth and others.

Now, with the right still raging over the death of southern Arizona rancher Rob Krentz -- a murder state Senator Russell Pearce and other nativist politicians effectively exploited to pass SB 1070 -- Napolitano hops in again with the same tired tactic.

To be honest, I think this is too little, too late. I suspect the 500 million dollars attached to this support will be foolishly squandered like the rest of our tax dollars. This move may be only in the interest of the current administration and not the American people.

Unfortunately, these troops will more than likely idly sit by on their hands and watch illegal aliens and narcotics pour over the border. It wouldn’t surprise me if these troops are deployed without weapons and/or ammunition. We need troops that are empowered to STOP those that are invading our country.

Of course, I fully expect the liberals, open borders supporters and opponents of SB 1070 to be highly critical of the “militarization” of the Arizona-Mexico border.

Call the Illegal Alien Tip Line: 866-347-2423

Arizona did not make illegal, illegal. Illegal was already illegal. It is a crime to enter or remain in the U.S. in violation of federal law. States have had inherent authority to enforce immigration laws and has failed or refused to do so. Sanctuary policies are illegal under federal law (8 USC 1644 & 1373) yet we have them all over the United States.
