Are the police censoring the press and the internet? You might be surprised.

Only one day after returning from the NSM rally in Trenton, New Jersey, I received a disturbing email from Tim Gaffney, the media spokesman for the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. He asked me to remove content from my Blogspot page. I thought this was no different than censors in Communist countries that control the flow of news and ideas. I immediately thought of "state controlled media".

If you remember, My Gaffney also helped himself, without asking or regard to my copyrights, to photographs I took of barricades along the Table Top Wilderness Area boundary. If anything, he should be thanking me.

My reasponse to Mr. Gaffney's request:

Mr. Gaffney,

I'm afraid that's not going to happen as I'm exercising my First Amendment Constitutional rights by speaking my mind on my blog. I will NOT be CENSORED under any circumstances. I will also be posting the text of this email in a future post. Stupid people always get false impressions no matter what they say or do. This is no different. If you have an image problem, don't come blaming me. Maybe I should just CC this to Steve Lemons of the Phoenix New Times. I'm sure that would go over nicely.

I'm seriously considering posting the pictures of me shaking Sheriff Babeu's hand. He offered to pose for the picture and it was taken. How would you like that? I have some other interesting photographs, too. I intended to keep them out of the public light, but, if this is the way you want to play, I'll be happy to take off my gloves.

You are seriously misinformed. The National Socialist Movement is NOT a "hate group". It's a political party and non profit white civil rights organization. By the tone of the email you sent me, it appears that my civil rights are in EXTREME DANGER and such a group is necessary to protect them. Since when does the police have the right to tell a citizen what to print, post or say? This is exactly what you have done. How would the media respond to this?

Perhaps, we should have a rally in Pinal County just like the one we had in Trenton, New Jersey last weekend. We addressed the issues of illegal immigration and political corruption. Did you happen to listen to my speech?

Sincerely,

SGT Harry L. Hughes III
NSM-AZ Executive Officer/Media Spokesman

Does this sound "Constitutional"? Is it an attempt at CENSORSHIP?

Subject: Blogspot Photos

Dear Mr. Hughes,

I am asking for you to please remove the photo of Sheriff Babeu from your blogspot (http://www.vandal49588.blogspot.com/ ) and also the photo of the Pinal County Sheriff's Office vehicle. The images have given certain members of the public the impression that Sheriff Babeu and the Pinal County Sheriff's Office support your groups activities. Neither the Pinal County Sheriff's Office or Sheriff Babeu have ever nor will they support the efforts of any hate groups. Our efforts are not to deter any individual from coming into the country if they do so legally we are only standing up for the rule of law against those who come in illegally. We do not profile individuals based on race, color, religion but rather profile "criminal behavior" and take action on those individuals. I appreciate your anticipated assistance with my request.

As a result of my failure to comply with Mr. Gaffney's request I can expect plenty of "random" and "routine" traffic stops as well as more "unfounded" criminal charges against me. This is going to be fun. I will stand my ground. I will not back down.

Mr. Gaffney's email address, fax and phone numbers are listed above. Please feel free to contact Mr. Gaffney and express your opinions and concerns. As you can clearly see, the "police state" is already here.

First they says "please". Then, they call you a member of a "hategroup". Then, they say "We do not profile individuals based on race, color, religion but rather profile "criminal behavior".

Yes, but they profile individuals based on political views. Political views are also secured by the 1st Amendment, not only the race, color and religion.

    Sir,

I fully understand the extreme political pressure you are under to appease hate groups such as the ADL, JDL, SPLC, ACLU and other anti-American/anti-Law Enforcement special interest groups who are very vocal and use tremendous media pressure to sway officials from their sworn Constitutional oath to defend all citizen's rights. Instead of upholding the Rule of Law, these subversive hate groups manipulate others into making prejudicial statements against certain targeted people, regardless whether you personally agree or disagree with them or not. Indeed, I am not writing you to tell you how to do your job as a public safety officer. I am sure that you are fully capable in that regard. The men and women of your department are true heroes sacrificing daily for the community's safety and security. However, being bigoted about people whom you have never bothered to even have any dialogue with (if for no other reason than public safety concerns), taking the side of our mutual enemies to appease these hate groups, and refusing to establish basic communication links with various groups legally patrolling the desert, is less than professional and quite biased conduct in my estimation.

I am not writing to grovel to you. Nor to dictate to you your personal decisions. Rather, I am being the bigger man here by offering the olive branch once again. The contact information of the US Border Guard may be found on our website: www.USBorderGuard.com Along with updated information on the Intel page. Please feel free to browse the site as much as you would like. Or share the information with fellow public safety officials. Also, please feel free to contact my office anytime in order to establish S.O.P.'s as far as interface with your law enforcement department and our lawful patrols. However, infringing upon our First Amendment rights such as you have done with Mr. Hughes in leveraging your public position in an attempt to deny him from posting pictures of public figures and public safety equipment, bought and paid for with taxpayer's monies, will not be tolerated. I have already won a landmark decision against another law enforcement department in the 9th Circuit Court appeals for overstepping their boundaries and violating my rights along with those whom I choose to associate with. And I would gladly receive more monetary compensation for any misguided official who wishes to violate our rights again. So in the interest of public safety alone, not to be confused as a friendship with you, I retain an open-door policy of communication between your office and mine.
